New Courses We have added some new
courses, described below, and are considering a
number of others in the coming months, including
Loss Prevention and OSHA. Let us know if you have
a need.
Basic Math: This is designed for
students not ready for Basic Mechanics or Basic
Electricity. Covers adding, subtracting,
multiplying, and dividing fractions; converting
fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions;
and basic algebra, used in Basic Mechanics and
Basic Electricity. June 2 – 4,
$500.
Compressed Air System Management:
Many of the problems that plague industrial
compressed air systems are easily corrected with
simple and inexpensive solutions. The purpose of
this course is to lay the foundations for
identifying, quantifying, and correcting many of
these problems.
Our Instructor: Brent
Ehrlich. Brent entered the compressed air field as
the System Specialist for a distributor in North
Carolina and Virginia. While there, he pioneered
advancements in areas ranging from data
acquisition techniques to products used to manage
condensate flow to unconventional system
redesigns. He has performed numerous audits that
have resulted in considerable (up to 75%) savings
for his clients both in power and maintenance
costs. Innovative software he developed for
analyzing the data from an audit, coined
Flow-Based Analysis, makes it possible for him to
computer model future performance by putting
together actual recorded system behavior with
variables for proposed equipment. He is a graduate
of CEESI’s Advanced Flow Measurement Course on
compressible gasses, where he learned what few of
his competitors have: the correct placement and
type of meter needed for a given job. He is a
Qualified Instructor with the Compressed Air
Challenge training program. Brent currently owns
and operates Air Services as an independent
consultant to industrial compressed air users and
all of his solutions reflect a “global” view –
supply side to end users on the production floor.
August 5, $300.
Value Added Maintenance:
When the typical corporate mantra today is, “do
more with less” [until you do everything with
nothing], this course is designed to help you
understand your corporate culture and defend your
headcount and budget. June 18,
$300.
Special Classes These are classes offered
only a few times per year. We draw your attention
to them so you won't miss one you were hoping to
attend.
Systematic Troubleshooting: This
course teaches a practical alternative to “parts
replacing”, i.e., swapping out parts until the
problem goes away. See our web site for further
information on this class. August 12 – 14,
$775.
Systematic Troubleshooting for
Managers and Supervisors: This course goes beyond
Systematic Troubleshooting, to cover techniques
for making intelligent decisions when faced with
multiple alternatives; assessing a complex
situation to determine the logical order to taking
next steps; and avoiding potential problems. June
24 – 26, $775.
DC Drives: 15 Professional
Development Hours for Professional Engineers
registered in NC. This is a hands-on course that
will really help you understand the operation of
DC drives. May 28 – 29, $580.
